The Magic Kingdom: Random thoughts on a visit to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida

1. Walt Disney, the man, was not only a genius. He was a visionary genius.
2. The economy doesn't exist in the Magic Kingdom. Period!
3. You're either inside or outside this kingdom. There is no halfway in or halfway out.
4. If you're inside this kingdom, you're at the mercy of its king, a rodent who rules with an iron hand. (I'd say in a heartbeat that this rodent king is a tyrant, but tyrants seldom bring so much happiness to so many of their subjects.)
5. Everyone (mostly everyone) inside the kingdom submits quite willigly to the rule of the rodent king.
6. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! It was startling to see so many happy people in one place, including me and my family.
7. Ironically, there were also quite a few unhappy people in the Magic Kingdom both big and small, including me and my family!
8. Not even the MK is a sure recipe for happiness.
9. Long lines are evil. (I'd recommend to God anyday to put Satan in a very long line in hell on Judgement Day! See how he enjoys that!)
10. Entertainment is a value in nearly every culture. The United States is the entertainment capital of the world. Few, very few places in the world will contend with a Hollywood or Vegas or, yep, the MK at the business of entertaining people. There's even an MK in Tokyo and another one in Paris! (Mickey loves his sushi and them French fries!)
11.There's good and bad entertainment. Moreover, there's true and false entertainment. Entertainment can be liberating, but it can also enslave our senses, our minds and our souls. I wonder which one's which for the many who visit the MK.
12. Walt Disney's original vision for Disneyland/World sprang from his quest to find "a place where a dad could have some fun with his kids". It was a vision that stemmed from strong family values. The MK is a place that celebrates the family.
13. I saw so many different people and heard so many different languages while walking the streets of the MK. To his credit, his highness, the rodent king, has one of the most diverse kingdoms in the whole world.
14. God gave Walt Disney, his imagination and creativity to the world. But Disney pales when compared to what God had given long before the 20th century. Given with a much higher purpose than to entertain us. Interestingly, it all also had to do with a kingdom. Unlike the MK, an everlasting kingdom.
